Our final installment of our 2025 Advocacy Series will be an in person event with the Hon Dr Iain Ross AO giving a seminar on Appellate Advocacy in the Fair Work Commission.

Iain Ross AO is known to all of us: he was the President of the Fair Work Commission between 2012 and 2022, and was a Vice President of the Australian Industrial Relations Commission between 1994 and 2006.  His judicial career has also included appointments to the Federal Court of Australia, Supreme Court of Victoria,  ACT Supreme Court, County Court of Victoria, and the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal. 

Throughout that career, Iain has presided over countless appeals - be that in the FWC, AIRC, the ACT Court of Appeal, Victorian Court of Appeal or the Federal Court of Australia. 

He is, therefore, one of the most qualified people in Australia to provide insight into how to persuade an appellate bench.
